We conduct our own research and documentation from that standpoint by developing a community-led approach that equips young lesbian, queer women, trans* and gender non-confirming individuals to source and analyze their own stories and develop their own new languages to articulate data on the situation and lived realities of LGBTQ populations in West Africa and Cameroon.

Knowledge production is a strategic vehicle for achieving our mission in that it can be a vital tool of influence because it communicates, educates, informs, creates and builds community. It is also an activity in and of itself. In some cases, our research and documentation may serve a specific advocacy objective directly, but in other cases it can contribute to building influence indirectly.[/vc_column_text][/qode_elements_holder_item][qode_elements_holder_item background_image=”77″ vertical_alignment=”middle” advanced_animations=”no”][vc_column_text]we counter the hegemonic patriarchal and colonial foundations of the concept of knowledge and the practices of knowledge production.[/vc_column_text][/qode_elements_holder_item][/qode_elements_holder][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” background_color=”#ffffff” padding_top=”20″ padding_bottom=”50″ el_class=”research_top_wrapper”][vc_column][vc_column_text]We have built a track record for being the only lesbian-led organization conducting research and producing documentation on the realities of LGBTQ lives with a specific emphasis on LBQWSW in West and Central Africa.
