Solange A. M. Kibibi

Co-coordinator

A feminist trans woman, Solange AM Kibibi’s activism took off in 2003 after making a six-month trip to Africa, from Dakar to Johannesburg via Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Cameroon, Kenya, Zambia and more. After her return to Canada, she co-founded Rainbow of Africa (Arc-en-ciel d’Afrique) in November 2004, the first Afro-queer organization in Canada. Later she was the initiator of the festival Massimadi which highlights films and documentaries adressing the topic of the LGBTQI community in the Afro world.

She joins the QAYN team as co-coordinator after spending three years in Ivory Coast where she co-founded the House of Culture of Human Diversity and the event My gender My Talent which celebrates the creativity and talent of the West African LGBTQI community and their allies. Her hobby is writing on various topics of society. She believes in a vibrant, dynamic and proud queer African youth.
